Please note that the eSpelman Project Management Certificate is separate from the Project Management Institute (PMI)'s Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. Completing the eSpelman Project Management Certificate Program will not automatically get you the PMP® Certification.

This online certificate provides a thorough introduction to fundamental knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques students can use to properly manage most kinds of projects from ideation to completion. Designed to be accessible for those with or without college experience, this program gives students in-demand career skills while earning credits that can be applied towards a degree.

This program satisfies the 35 hours of project management education required by the Project Management Institute (PMI) for the Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification and the 23 hours of project management education required for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)®Certification. It also connects students to professional development resources and networking opportunities provided by the PMI community.


What You'll Learn 

  • Recognize the importance of project management in most industries and key project management concepts to empower students' project leadership.
  • Understand various tools and methodologies at different phases of the project’s life cycle to increase productivity.
  • Analyze factors for successful projects and reasons for project failure, based on specific case studies, to apply learnings in the workplace.
  • Learn various strategies to effectively manage teams, stakeholders and communications and to deliver the best value for each project.
  • Apply approaches and methods of complex problem solving to explore creative solutions to problems in real work situations.

The Project Management Certificate consists of two eight-week courses for a total of six credit hours. Both courses are offered online only and are self-paced
